He was a resident of Fort Ashby, WV.
He was born on August 8, 1947, in Wiley Ford, WV to Emil B. and Mary (Ross) Comer.
Dave grew up in Wiley Ford and was a graduate of Ridgeley High School. His career included Production Supervisor at Schmidts Bakery, Manager of Custom Carpets, Owner of Dave's Carpets, and Driver for Lumber ‘N Things/St. Christopher's Trucking. Dave is predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Emil Ray Comer, Alfred J. Comer, and Frederick Lee Comer. He is survived by a sister, Phillis Ruckman, Wiley Ford; a brother, Harry Comer and wife Saundra, FL; brother, Douglas Comer and wife Karen, Wiley Ford; and brother-in-law, Richard Ruckman.
Dave is also survived by his wife, Marlene S. Comer. He is the proud parent of son, Edward Comer and wife Stacy and their children, Taylor and wife Marissa and their daughter Aubrielle, Mercedez, McKenzie, Rachael, Tori, Brittney, Matt, and Scott; daughter, Rebecca Spriggs and husband Eric and their children Icesis and Cyrus; and daughter Mary Ghazanfari and husband Ayoub; daughter, Shaunda Michaels and her children Emily and Erika; and son, Richard Lowrey and wife Stacey.
Dave enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow. He was an avid dirt track race fan and driver, winning the season championship in 2010 and 2011 at the Rock Speedway.
A Celebration of Life Service has been scheduled for Friday, January 9, 2015, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Ridgeley American Legion.
