Joined the Navy on December 7, 1942 and was sent to Farragut, Idaho for Boot Camp. Later, went to radio School at Farragut for 3 months. Serve aboard the USS Zane, which was the basis for the book "The Caine Mutiny". It was written by Herman Wouk who was my communications officer. I was radioman 2nd class. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I have few regrets with my life. There were things I may have done differently, but overall it was very satisfactory. I would like to thank Pete Harman for providing Betty with and income that would sustain us through the rest of our lives. I have seen some of the world, but there is more that I wished IS could have seen. That's about all i have to say, but i must go now.
