Oscar Brown

Mr. Oscar Brown died at his home on South Main Street, Som¬erset, Wednesday afternoon, De-cember 25, 1935 after an illness of several months. He suffered from a case of pneumonia about four months ago and never recovered. Mr. Brown was formerly employed as a brakeman on the Southern Railroad between Danville, KY and Oakdale, TN, and also served as a night watchman at the depot.

He was preceded in death by his father Andrew Jackson Brown, mother Catherine Hatfield Brown, and wife Lillie Taylor Brown.

Surviv¬ing are brothers, Burdett, Wilber Hamilton, Everett, with whom he lived, Dolphus of Danville, and sisters, Cora, Augusta, and Alice.

He also leaves five children: Edna Mae, Virginia, Oscar William, Catherline, and Everline Christine.

Mr. Brown was raised in Oneida, Tenn., but had been a, resident of Somerset for a number of years.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 29, 1935 with burial in the City Cemetery, Somerset KY He is buried in an un-marked grave in Somerset City Cemetery.
