Known for his gentle nature, his love of life, his delicious sense of humor, his singular devotion to those he loved, and his artistic skills, David’s passing is mourned by all who knew him.
David attended Nativity School in Dubuque, Iowa, where he excelled in Mock Trial. After three years at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, Wisconsin, David graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. After attending the University of Dubuque and Northwest Iowa Community College, David took a position with Moore Enterprises in Jackson, Tennessee. David and Jacie were embraced by the loving Christian fellowship at Northside United Methodist Church and pastored by Reverend Don Thrasher and Reverend Daphne Moses.
David is also survived by family members: Stacey and Jerry Norwood; Vance and Linda Hudson. For all the teachers, principals, coaches, ministers, friends, members of Westminster Church (Dubuque), and incredible aunts and uncles who believed in him, prayed for him, and loved him, we –the family – remain forever grateful.
At the time of his death, David was engaged to Jacie Gatto from Ashton, Iowa. Her daughter, the lively RhyLee Jean Gatto, nestled in close to his heart.
In lieu of flowers or memorials, the family would appreciate gifts to a fund established for the benefit of David’s daughter to be born in April. Contributions to the Moessner Fund may be made by check payable to Diversified Trust Company at 6075 Poplar Avenue, Suite 900, Memphis, TN, 38119.
Burial at Memorial Park next to his late grandfather, Dr. Cleo Wilson Stevenson.
