He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Clone Richard Conner Sr. He was a retired engineer with IBM, and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by a brother Clone R. Conner Jr.
Survivors include his Mother Lacey Lucille Conner of Bessemer City, two sisters Nancy and Annette both of Bessemer City, and a brother Dwight A. of Kings Mountain.
A memorial service conducted by the Rev. David McClure will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn
Funeral Home in Mount Holly.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Internment will follow at a later date in the VA National Cemetery in Salisbury.
