Born about 1850 in Caldwell County, North Carolina. He was raised by his grandmother Priscilla Rader and lived with her in North Carolina. They moved to Kentucky between 1860-1870. He was with his grandmother until his marriage in 1871 to Laura D. Bowman (his 1st cousin)in Marion County, Kentucky. They had 3 children: Mathew, Samuel Lee, and Joseph Edward. In 1877 he married Eda Jane Acre/Acrey in Marion County, Kentucky. They had 3 children: Columbus Postell, Shird Daniel, Eliza Emiline. Columbus moved with his family to Carroll County, MO about 1883. In 1888 he married Ellen Douglas Ramsey in Carroll County, MO. They had 4 children: Dora, General C., Daisy D., and Minnie Bessie. Columbus died between 1896-1900 in Randolph County, MO.
I do not know what happened to his first two wives-whether they were divorced or died. I also can't find a death certificate on any of the wives or Columbus Rader. I assume Laura died in Marion County, Kentucky. Jane probably is buried in Randolph County, Missouri.
