Otress Edmond Foster, 95, of Viola, son of the late Victor Foster and Alma Smith Foster, was born August 20, 1919 in Elizabeth, Arkansas. He died November 21, 2014 at Southfork River Therapy and Living Center in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 95 years 3 months and 1 day.

He was united in marriage to Elda Leota Marchant December 7, 1938 in Elizabeth. To this union four children were born. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for thirty-three years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of the family home; his children: Barbara Dover and husband Robert of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Max Foster and wife Rose of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Sue Newberry and husband Don of Viola, and Kae Hatcher and husband Milton of Sparta, Missouri; grandchildren: Steve Dover, Lisa Kinney, Melissa Hermrick, Kim Foster, Michael Foster, Dawnesea Roper, Cris Newberry, Scott Lancaster and William Hatcher; 16 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother-in-law, Cecil Young of Kansas City, KS; 2 special caregivers: Joyce Yarnell and Bonnie Lau, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle Lancaster; a brother, Colon Foster; a sister, Norma Young and his father and mother.

Pallbearers will be: Scott Allen Lancaster, Cris Newberry, Steve Dover, Michael Foster, William Hatcher and Chance Roper. Honorary Pallbearers are Jerrell Zimmer, David Zimmer, Delmar Sanders, Eugene Tyree, Darrell Zimmer and Bob Roper.

Funeral Services are Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 at 2 pm at Cox-Blevins Chapel in Salem, Arkansas with burial in Elizabeth Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem. Memorials may be made to the Elizabeth Cemetery Association.
