Local Man Dies at 80
Policarpio Abalos, 2822 Avenue O, died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, at his home. He had been failing in health for the past year.
The deceased was born Jan 27, 1876, in Jalostotitlan, Jalisco, Mexico. He came to Fort Madison 34 years ago, and was employed at the Santa Fe shops. On April 24, 1938, at Chicago, he married Mabel Flannigan, who is his only survivor. He was a member of the Assembly of God church.

Funeral Saturday
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God church. The Rev. Fred R. Gottwald will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. The body is at the Hall Funeral Home where it will remain until 12:30 p.m. Saturday. It will then be taken to the church to lie in state until time for the services.

Final rites for Policarpio Abalos, 80, 2822 Avenue O, who died Wednesday, were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God church. The Rev. Fred R. Gottwald officiated. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Grant Corsbie, George Boyd, Maurice Doran, Richard Gaule, Grover Senf and W.E. Prewitt.
