Thomas died between Wichita Falls and Gainesville, Texas from a train accident. His body was shipped to Gainesville, to his sister's home of Annie Georgia Bagwell and Matthew Moutray. He left his wife, Nellie, c. 28 yrs., and two young boys, George August, c 9 yrs. and John Henry Bagwell, c 7 yrs. in Gainesville. Thomas parents were previously deceased.
