Ann Wright, age 83, passed away on May 30, 2008, at North Florida Regional Medical Center. Ann was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on December 31, 1924, and graduated with a teaching degree from Florida State University (formerly Florida State Women's College) where she was a member and served as President of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She married George Wright in 1950 and in 1954 they moved to Gainesville. She has been a member of First United Methodist Church of Gainesville since 1954, serving on the altar guild and as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. Mrs. Wright also served as President of the Junior League of Gainesville. Her first and most important love was her family. Ann was preceded in death by her parents Judge and Mrs. Curtis Eugene Chillingworth. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years George W. Wright. Two sons, Dr. William C. Wright of Augusta, Georgia and Scott C. Wright of Tallahassee, Florida two daughters, Gail Wright of Gainesville and Jo Ann Prescott of Tallahassee, Florida. Two sisters, Neva Chillingworth of Miami, Florida and Marie C. Cooper of Easton, Maryland and 11 Grandchildren. A memorial service for Mrs. Wright will be held Monday, June 2nd, 2008 at 11:00am at the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville.
