Georgia Ilene (Jackson) Crawford, 78, of Richmond, Ind., died Monday, April 17, 2006.
Born Jan. 18, 1928, in Greene County, Tenn., she was the daughter of Buford and Phronia (Hensley) Jackson. She had lived in the Richmond and New Paris, Ohio, area since 1948. Mrs. Crawford retired from Belden Corporation in 1990 after 33 years of service. She was a member of First Southern, Freedom Missionary and Victory Baptist Churches. She enjoyed quilting, and fishing with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; brother, James T. Jackson; and her husband of 57 years, Doyle "Cliff" Crawford.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Lester and Sylvia (Sandlin) Crawford, and Jerry Crawford, all of Richmond, Ind.; brothers, Roy Jackson of Millville, Ohio, Billy and Margie (Archer) Jackson of Richmond, Ind.; sister, Mildred Bailey of New Paris; grandchildren and friends, Nathan Crawford, Nastsha Miller (and great-grandchild Lilly), Brandee Marshall, Zackary Crawford, Melissa Messer, Danielle Crawford, Emily Breeden, Alexa Lingg and Bryce Lingg; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Thursday, April 20, at Barnes Funeral Home, New Paris, with nephew Rodger "Peter" Smith of Tennessee and Pastor Lloyd Mofield of Victory Baptist Church, Centerville, Ind., officiating. Burial was in Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris, Ohio.
