Three Mt. Pleasant miners died of carbon monoxide poisoning late Saturday or early Sunday two miles west of here when a freezing blizzard stalled and trapped some 20 person in a dozen cars on Utah Highway 96 for more than 13 hours. Utah and Carbon county sheriff's officers early Sunday recovered the bodies of Waldo Hansen, 45; Arthur Brewer, 46 and Ed S. Jensen, 58.
Ed S. Jensen was born July 23, 1893, in Orangeville, Emery County, a son of Charles and Eva Burke Jensen. A veteran of World War I, he married Alta Stansfield of Mt. Pleasant in February 1920, in Price. The marriage later was solemnized in Manti Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
survivors include his widow, Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Donna) Johnson, Salt Lake city, and Wilma Jensen, Mt. Pleasant; his mother, 93 years old, Orangeville, and four sister, Mrs. B. J. Moffitt, Helper; Mrs. Jerry Page and Mrs. Howard Reid, both of Orangeville and Mrs. George Magnussen, Castledale.
