A Lioness at the Gate died Sunday, January 4, 2015, of natural causes in Enoch, Utah. Wilda Nielsen Andrejcik, the seventh child of ten was born June 30, 1924 to Harvey J. Nielsen and Ruby Ainge in Gusher Utah.
She protected family values as a loving matriarch of Debra, Janet, Kirk, Trent and Tamara.
She taught those values to numerous individuals as a Ward and Stake Relief Society President for 24 years, an early morning seminary and adult institute teacher for 18 years and in her many other teaching callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She stood strong for moral values in serving her community in California. Over the decades, Wilda was president of the Antelope Valley Union High School District plus the Antelope Valley School Boards Association, the Antelope Valley Transit Authority and the Jurupa Ditch (an irrigation group). She was also chairwoman of the Antelope Valley Red Cross, a board member of the United Way and other committees.
Wilda moved to Utah to be close to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Andrew Andrejcik and their son Trent.
She loved life, people, beauty, gardening, learning, reading, painting, spaghetti, and chocolate with nuts.
A memorial service in Enoch will be Friday, Jan. 9 at 12 noon at the Enoch Stake Building, 2233 E .Village Green Rd. A viewing will be at 11 to 11:45 prior to the service at the same location.
A funeral service in Palmdale, CA will be Saturday, Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. at the Palmdale 1st Ward Building, 2120 E. Ave. R. A viewing will be held 12 noon to 12:45 prior to the service at the same church. The interment will immediately follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
