Eva C. Barfield Brooks, age 68 of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Eva was born in Morgantown, North Carolina, on January 12, 1946, to the late William Frank Barfield and Eva Chappelear Barfield. Eva married Ed Brooks on August 26, 1967, and they were married for 47 years. Eva attended the University of Georgia where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Geography. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, and a dedicated and supportive grandmother. Eva loved her church and her Lord. She was a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church where she served as a member of the bereavement committee and the benevolence committee. Eva volunteered as a Medicare Counselor at Maury County Senior Citizens Center for four years with her husband Ed.

The family will visit with family and friends at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church of Columbia, Tennessee on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Vassar and Rev. Ron Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Eva is survived by her husband Ed Brooks; son Clinton Brooks of Lewisburg, Tennessee; daughter Heather (Todd) Young of New Albany, Indiana; grandson Brandon Young; granddaughters Bekah Young and Karis Young.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Eva Barfield.

Pallbearers will be the active Deacons of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Co-ed 4 couples Sunday School Class taught by Lonnie Roberts and Ron Brown.

Memorials can be made to the mission activities of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church
