Paul Allen Van Winkle, the son of George Van Winkle and Agnes Putz Van Winkle, was born in Lucas County, Iowa, May 27, 1915 and departed this life August 21, 1976 at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
He attended school in Clarke County and was married March 17, 1940 to Georgia Westbrook.
He was engages in farming as long as his health permitted.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Louise who died in childhood.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia; and son, Ronald, both of rural Clarke County; grandchildren, Chris and Laurie; also two brothers, Kenneth of Osceola; Floyd of Independence, Missouri; three sisters, Mildred Ruth of Humeston; Arline Horton of Derby; Delores Beakler of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 24 at 2:00 p.m. from the Webster-Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with Rev. Densmore Peterson officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola, Iowa.
