Martha M. Hawley, cherished wife of Franklyn J. Hawley, died December 30, 2014 after a brief illness. She was born in 1930 on her grandfather's farm on Rt. 202 in New Hartford.

She married Franklyn in 1953 and settled in East Hartford. Square dancing in Glastonbury and Manchester was a favorite pastime. In 1999, they moved back to New Hartford where they became members of the New Hartford Seniors. She was their secretary for 4 years. She was also a member of the Barkhamsted seniors.
She enjoyed trying new recipes, gardening, reading and the internet.

In addition to her beloved husband, Franklyn of 61 years, she leaves two loving sons, Kenneth and his wife Darlene with whom she made her home and Michael and Joyce with whom she spent the winters in Florida; five adored grandchildren, Jessica, Connor and Lauren of New Hartford and Christopher and Kathleen of Florida; a very special pet, Maddie; and many, many, special friends.

Calling hours will be held Thursday January 8, 2015 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 5 Steele Rd., New Hartford from 1:30 – 3:30 PM with a funeral service at 3:30 PM.
Burial will be held on Friday at Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, CT at 10AM.
