MELVIN: Mrs. Ida E. Bond, 94, a Melvin area resident for 76 years, died at 6:10 p.m. Friday, July 29, 1977, at Greenbriar Nursing Home, Piper City, IL.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, with Dr. Robert Sabo officiating.

Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery at Gibson City, IL.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born June 17, 1883 in Piper City, the daughter of Philip John and Alida Garland Kief.

She married Chester Bond July 30, 1901, in Cissna Park. He died in June of 1965.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Blanchard, Ormon Beach, FL; and Mrs. Eldon Thackeray, Melvin; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and 10 brothers and sisters.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Melvin, where she was a member of the women's club and the Thilathia Sunday School class.
