Antone D. Alfonso., 63, of Otocki Lane in Tiverton passed away suddenly at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River on Sunday March 27, 2005 he was the husband of Robin M. (Scholes) O’Brien. Born in Fall River, MA on August 7, 1941 the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Ferreira) Pires.

Mr. Alfonso worked as an assembler at the former Mervin Hat Co. in Fall River, then as a supervisor for Reflec Corporation, and then went on to work with dye at Duro Finishing in Fall River he retired in 1995. He was very involved with girls softball teams as a coach in the Fall River area, and also the Bayside little league as a coach, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors beside his wife are two sons Jason Alfonso of Tiverton, RI, David Alfonso of Fall River, MA, a step daughter Kimberly E. O’Brien of Fall River, MA, a sister Mary Leatherwood of Fall River two brothers Joseph Affonso of Newport, RI and John Alfonso of Westminster, California a grandson David Anthony Alfonso and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Lillian Duven, Mary Costa, and Joseph Pires.

Mr. Alfonso's funeral will be held from the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA followed by a Mass of Christian burial in Holy Name Church 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Burial to follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery Fall River.
