Solomon fought in the War of 1812, marching with others to counter an expected British attack at Plattsburgh on Lake Champlain in the autumn of 1814. He submitted a claim in 1857 for $61 to cover the cost of clothing, equipment and transportation. Before that, he had received a land grant of 160 acres as a reward for serving in that war (NYS Archives, War of 1812 Claims).
Solomon lived his life in Jackson, Washington County, NY. Censuses show him spending his last years with his son John and family.
