Ethel M. West, 84, of Blair, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Ethel M. West was born Dec. 3, 1918, in Blair to Andrew and Hulda (Petersen) Hansen. She attended school in Blair.

She married Fern West, and the couple lived in Herman where they owned and operated the West Bar and Café. In 1967, they moved to Blair, where Mrs. West worked for the Blair Eagles.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Rasmussen of Kennard; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald “Jerry” and Kate Callahan of Toledo, Ohio, and Robert and Carol Callahan of Omaha; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Laura Alston of Bennington and Winifred Phillips of Blair, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fern, and a sister, Nettie Voss.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
