Freida Hale, 73, went to be with her Lord on April 9, 2006, in Tucson, Ariz.

Freida was born on Sept. 19, 1932, in Roswell to Lester and Gladys David. She was the beloved wife of H.P. Hale for 56 years and a devoted mother to her two children. Freida worked alongside her husband for 43 years in their family trucking company, Hale Trucking. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ruidoso and an active member of the Pecos Valley Quilters Association. Family members and friends were blessed by her sweet and loving spirit.

Freida is survived by her husband, H.P., and her children, Charlie Hale and wife, Sandy, of Plano, Texas, and Rita Barnett and husband, Rob, of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Colleen Penfold and husband, Joey, of Republic, Mo., Katie and Chas Hale of Plano, Texas, and Adam and Amy Barnett of Mesa, Ariz.; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Adam Penfold of Republic; and one sister, Nadine Yauk of LaVerne, Calif.

Freida was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Ella B. Lloyd of Farmington, N.M.

Services were held at First Baptist Church in Ruidoso on April 14 with graveside service at South Park Cemetery in Roswell. A reception was held afterward for family and friends at the home of Randy Pirtle.

Pallbearers were Ronnie, Jonnie, Richard and Jimmy Van Winkle, Chas Hale, Adam Barnett and Karl Reid. Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Bevers, Johnny Bourland, Jerry Bostick, Gene Bizzle, Lane Bachman, Malcolm Harral, Courtney Holstun, Larry Sibley and Dale Staten.

Freida's family asked that contributions in lieu of flowers be made to the Patient Assistance Fund, c/o University Medical Center (UMC), Ardi Delargo, Arizona Cancer Center, P.O. Box 245024, Tucson, AZ 85724.

The family extends tremendous thanks and blessings to all who were with her in prayer and who keep her memory alive in their hearts.

Arrangements were under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso.
