Anita spent her early life in Menominee and was a graduate of Menominee High School. She married Harold G. May on December 4, 1971. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2011. For many years, Anita worked at the former Vernco plant in Menominee. She was last employed by the Budget Dollar Store in Marinette.
She was a devoted mother to her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, Anita also enjoyed reading her Nook, gaming and trips to the casino with Linda Peters.
Anita is survived by her children: Kimberly (Wayne) Bauer of Waupun, Wis.; Peter May of Marinette,WI; Lee (Danielle) May of Peshtigo, WI and Christopher May of Green Bay, WI; five grandchildren: Michael (Ashleigh) Bauer, Nicholas Bauer, Natalie Neumann, Ashley May and Anden Kuhnlein; a brother, Michael (Candy) Headman of Cedar River, Mich. and their daughter, Heidi, and grandson, Noah; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (Sandy) May of Milwaukee, WI; and special friends, Don and Sue Belling of Marinette.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Julie.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette from noon until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015. A memorial service will follow at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Craig Mansur officiating.
