C. C. ARMOUR, CHURCH ELDER 24 YEARS, DIES
Funeral Services Will Be Held Wednesday At First Presbyterian
Charles Colville Armour, 318 North Winnebago street, a grocer here for many years and a prominent member of the First Presbyterian church, died at 4 a. m. today at Rockford hospital after a three months illness. He had been critcally ill since the first of the year.
The son of Charles and Susan Jane Armour, he was born Jan. 30, 1863, in Argyle, and at the age of 11 moved to Rockford with his widowed mother. From 1894 to 1908 he lived in Little Rock, Ia., but except for that time had always made Rockford his home For twenty-four years he served as an elder of First Presbyterian church, and last Christmas the church presented the fourth generation of his family with the Yule candle in recognition of sixty years of continuous membership.
Surviving are the widow, the former Margaret Eva Bilsborough, whom he married on Sept. 12, 1888; three sons, Harvey B., of Des Moines, And Abner J. and Charles R. of Rockford; a daughter, Mrs. Payton H. Kaylor, of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, W. H. Armour, Rockford; an uncle, Daniel G. Harvey, also of this city, and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the First Presbyterian church, the Rev. W. H. Fulton officiating, and interment will take place in Willwood burial park.
