BRISTOL — Robert P. DePalma, 64, of Bristol, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, Jan. 4, 2015. He was the devoted husband for the past 24 years to Rita (Sauvé) DePalma. They were best friends.

Bob was born on Feb. 15, 1950, in Waterbury, a son of the late Joseph and Denise (Robert) DePalma. Bob was a hard worker. He showed up rain or shine, ready to work as an expediter at Pratt & Whitney for the past 35 years; most recently at the Middletown plant.

He was considered the No. 1 New York Giants fan and also enjoyed the Yankees.

Besides his beloved wife, he leaves his stepchildren and their spouses, Ronald G. Doyon and his wife Tara Troy Doyon of Bloomington, Ind., Robyn Doyon-Aitken and her husband Steven Aitken of Cheshire, Reneé Doyon of Florida; siblings Steve DePalma and Marie DePalma, both of Waterbury; brother-in-law Armand Sauvé and his wife Mary of Leander, Texas; grandchildren Mary Kate and Caroline Doyon of Bloomington, Ind., Violet and Evan Aitken of Cheshire and Brittany McDougall of Florida; nephew Keith Sauvé of Chester, Va. and niece Michelle Sauvé of Leander, Texas.

Bob also leaves two uncles from Canada, Ferdinand O'Bomsawin and Florian O'Bomsawin and his wife Eveline.

The funeral will begin on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. from O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville/Bristol and will proceed to St. Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby St., for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 between 3 and 5 p.m. at the funeral
