NORFOLK — Services for Mary Abler, 53, of Norfolk will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Norfolk Catholic High School Gymnasium. The Rev. Daniel Andrews will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by a vigil service. Home for Funerals is in charge of the arrangements.

Miss Abler died at her parent's home on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014.

Mary Louise Abler was born on Sept. 15, 1961, the daughter of Paul and LaNeta (Thompson) Abler. She entered school at the Opportunity Center at the age of five and graduated from Norfolk High School with the class of 1982.

Mary Louise was very active in her youth. She enjoyed bowling, swimming, camping and fishing. She participated in track in the Special Olympics for many years. However, her passion was loving people. She was employed at the Granary Restaurant for 30 years.

Mary Louise was a life-long member of Sacred Heart/St. Mary's Parish.
Mary is survived by her parents, Paul and LaNeta Abler; her five brothers and spouses, Steve and Mary Abler, Tom and Laurie Abler, Jeff Abler, Mike and Mari Abler, and Joe and Tina Abler; her four sisters and spouses, Joan and Dave Hergenrader, Ann and Ted Moon, Amy and Brian Persinger, and Malinda and Matt Sailors; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Fossler; and numerous nieces, nephews, great–nieces and great–nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister and her sister, Paula Fossler; her grandparents, Walter and Stella Abler and Evan and Malinda Thompson; a sister-in-law, Janet Jochum Abler, and a brother-in-law, Roger Buckendahl.
