William Behrmann Brewer is the son of William Brewer and Magdalena (Lena) Andersen. He was born 25 Feb 1870 in Liberty, Bear Lake, Idaho. Several months after William was born, they moved to Arapahoe County, Colorado, living there until William was 8 or so years old, then moving to Utah.

William's mother, Lena, died in 1881, just 4 months after her baby (Sofia) was born. William and his brothers were given to his mother's relative. They had a hard life growing up without their mother and father and were denied many necessities and comforts of life. (William's father left to find work in California and was never heard from again.) William's siblings are John Anderson Brewer 1874–1924, Joseph Andersen Brewer 1879–1957, and Sophia Brewer Lauritzen Johnson Hansen 1881-1943, who was adopted as a baby by the Lauritzen family.

William was a resident of Mt. Pleasant since 1904, being a sheepherder by trade. He and his brothers remained close in their adult years.

William Behrmann married Catherine Williams (BIRTH 11 DEC 1874 • Wales, Sanpete, Utah; DEATH 30 AUG 1934 • Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah). They later divorced and both remarried. William's second wife was Kate Evelin Wilcox. William and Catherine had 2 children: Mabel Brewer Robinson 1893–1912, and Daniel William Brewer 1896–1935. Kate had 3 children from a previous marriage: Cecil Joanne Ney 1903–1979, Katie Evelyn Ney 1905–1907, and Arba Ione Ney 1907–1962.

William died at age 78. The newspaper, Mt. Pleasant Pyramid, gave the following account describing the accident that took William's life: "Mr. Brewer was walking west in the road, on Main Street, between Third and Fourth, West streets, when struck by a car driven by Mrs. Earl Guymon. travelling west. Investigating officers said her vision was obscured by the headlights of an east bound car driven by S. M. Ericksen. Both cars were traveling at a slow rate of speed at the time of the accident. Investigating officers were Reed Collard, highway patrolman; W. K. Peterson, Sanpete county deputy sheriff, and Lynn Averott, night marshal... Mr. Brewer was taken to the Dr. G. B. Madsen hospital where it was found he suffered compound fractures of both legs, a broken right arm, head and internal injuries. He was later removed to his brothers' home." Shortly thereafter, William died.

William is preceded in death by Catherine Williams Brewer, a son (Daniel William Brewer, who died in 1935 at the age of 38, from a mine cave-in), and a daughter (Mabel Brewer Robinson, who died in 1912 at age 18).

William is survived by only one of his 3 siblings, Joseph Andersen Brewer; also, six grandchildren living in Utah, all of whom attended the funeral. William's grandchildren are: Daniel Duane Brewer, Ross Kelvin Brewer, Mrs. Beverly B. Crane and family, and Mrs. Verlaine B. Allen and family from American Fork; Mrs. Mabel B. Bills and family from Springville; Mrs. Kathleen B. Withers and family from Murray.
