"Laura Ida Geib, 92, Rock Port, formerly of Mound City, died Tuesday, July 20, 1993, at Community Hospital, Fairfax.
She was born March 16, 1901, near Craig to Louis A. and Dora K. Nordloh Asendorf. She attended and graduated from Craig School. On Dec. 14, 1919, she was united in marriage to Frederick William Geib at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Craig. Mrs. Geib was a homemaker. She had been a resident at Pleasant View Nursing home in Rock Port.
Mrs. Geib was preceded in death by her husband, "Bill" in 1987; a daughter, Pauline Weiner; and a sister, Edna Sutterfield. Survivors include two sons, Vernon Geib, Mound City, and William Geib, Blue Springs; one daughter, Violet Rhoades, Craig; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, july 22, at Concordia Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. The Rev. Robert DenOuden will officiate. Pettijohn & Crawford Funeral Home, Mound City, is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the Craig I.O.O.F. cemetery.
