CLARK JOSEPH GUILD JR.

"Clark Joseph Guild Jr., 79, died February 22, 2000, at his residence. A Yerington native, he was born May 14, 1921, to Clark J. and Virginia (Carrol) Guild and had lived in Reno since 1951.

Guild was an attorney at law since 1948 and was retired from the position of chairman of the board of Southwest Gas Company. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a Captain. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, where he was a former Chancellor.

He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada in 1943 and a law degree from Georgetown University at Washington D.C. in 1948.

He was president of the American Heart Association Nevada Chapter and of the Reno Y.M.C.A. Board of Directors. He was a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Nevada Medical School, KNPB Board of Directors, Reno B.P.O. Elks Lodge, Prospector's Club, Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, Nevada Cattlemen's Association and Hidden Valley Country Club. He was a former chairman of the United Way of Northern Nevada and Vice President of the Nevada Taxpayers Association as well as a 32nd Degree Mason and founding member of the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City.

A son, Daniel Edwin, and a sister, Marjorie Guild Russell, preceded him in death. Surviving are companion, Gwen O'Bryan and son Joseph, both of Reno; son Jeffrey of Taipei, Taiwan; daughter Jann Caroll Cadermartori of Linden, California; 11 grandchildren and three step-children.

A funeral mass is scheduled for Monday at the church, Rainbow and Island Avenues, Reno, under the direction of Walton's Funeral Home, Reno."
