s/o John and Mary E. Poole
There are several variations of the first and middle name. Some records show Charles Carroll, Carlos Charles, Carl Charles. I choose to go with the order on the stone.

DEA TH OF C. C. POOLE.
Carl C. Poole, boss bridge builder
on the Lake road, died at Swanton
Wednesday, March 1, from the results
of an accident received on Feb. 16.
On that date he was struck over the
eye by a piece of board and complained
for several days afterward
of headache. No serious results
were anticipated until last Wednesday
when about noon he became unconscious
while sitting in a chair at
Maquam and died at Swanton at
6.30 p. m. A post-mortum examination
here Thursday showed that
a clot of blood had formed just above
the eyeball proving that the blow
had caused a hemorrhage, and ulceration
would have ensued in a few days had
not death intervened. Mrs. Poole will
therefore receive an
accident policy of $2000. Mr. Poole
was 61 years old and leaves a wife
and five children.
