Obituary
Funeral for T. Leo Carey, 80, was held at the Winchester Funeral Home Monday, the Rev. Hewitt V. Johnston vicar of Christ Episcopal Church officiating. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery with graveside services under the auspices of Charlevoix Lodge No. 282, F &AM.
Mr. Carey died June 22 at Grandvue Medical Care Facility where he had been a patient less than one day. He had been in failing health for several years.
He was born in Charlevoix June 15, 1893, and was married to the former Marion Emrey at Traverse City in 1913. She died in June, 1953.
Mr. Carey was a painting contractor all his life.
He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and was past master of Charlevoix Lodge No. 282, F & AM.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. S. E. (Marjorie) Coleman of Charlevoix, and six sons, Keith of Midland, William of East Jordan, Robert of Cincinnati, and Charles, Thomas and Donald of Charlevoix.
Also surviving are 26 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Iafayette, of Riveria Beach, Fla.; and three sisters, Mrs. George Papineau of Dearborn, Mrs. Ned Durance of Flushing and Mrs. Guy Weller of Ithaca.
The family suggests that anyone wishing to honor the memory of Mr. Carey may contribute in his name to the Intensive Care Unit at Charlevoix Area Hospital.
