William Edward O'Brien, beloved husband of Mary Frances Condon died at his home at 204 Wolseley Street early today. Mr. O'Brien was born in Douro, son of the late William O'Brien and the late Hannah Leahy. He had lived in Peterborough since coming from Douro 34 years ago. His death comes with a great shock to his many friends and business associates. He had been in poor health for the past three months. Mr O'Brien moved to Peterborough in 1886 and was in the real estate business here for a number of years. He later joined the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, and served under eight different managers in 19 years. He was superannuated in 1935. Mr O'Brien had made many friends in this city. He was a devout Catholic, a member of St. Peter's Cathedral and the Holy Name Society. Surviving are his widow, the former Mary Frances Condon, three sons, G. Stanley of Montreal; Fergus W. with RCASC and Gerard F. O'Brien of Peterborough, four daughters, Mrs. J. H. Poore of Ottawa; Mrs. L. J. Wade of Peterborough, Irene C. and Genevieve G. O'Brien both of this city. Two sisters, Mrs M. Coughlin of Woonsocket, SD, Mrs. M. McNorton of St. Louis, Missouri. Seven grandchildren also survive. The funeral will leave the residence, 204 Wolseley Street at 8:45 a.m. on Friday and proceed to St. Peter's Cathedral where mass will be said at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in St Joseph's Cemetery, Douro..
