Ramona Huff, age 79, of 504 Crawford Street, died at the Westhaven Community on January 1, 2015.

Ramona Esther Huff was born in Breda, Iowa, on July 23, 1935, the daughter of Andrew and Esther (Engel) Reising.

She graduated from Wesley High School in Wesley in 1953.

On June 28, 1956, Ramona married Lyle Huff at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wesley.

Ramona worked for J.C. Penney Company in Boone for over 20 years, first as a saleswoman and later as manager of the catalog store retiring June 27, 1997.

She was a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart and was leader of the Lay Carmelites.

Ramona enjoyed cooking and baking, especially cinnamon rolls, and she loved all animals.

She and Lyle enjoyed camping at Cutty's in Des Moines and Ramona loved visiting Reiman Gardens in Ames and enjoying the butterflies.

Ramona's faith and her family were very important to her.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Kathleen Hurt, a granddaughter Beth Huff, three sisters, Mary, Mary Lee, and Patricia, and a brother Dean.

She is survived by her husband Lyle of Boone; two sons Tim (Julie) Huff of Boone and Larry (Sherri) Huff of Des Moines; two daughters Patricia (Jeff) Roll and Debi Huff and fiancé Christopher Zeitler, all of Boone; five brothers: Zeno (Sharon) Reising, Tom (Mary Ann) Reising, and Richard (Arlene) Reising, all of Algona, Jim Reising of Garner, and Andy (Geri) Reising of Wesley; five sisters, Inez Eden of Woden, Rosa Lee (Philip) Studer, Marlene (Fred) Schneider, and Linda (Jim) Schoby, all of Algona, and Bonnie (Ken) Graham of Webster City; seven grandchildren: Sarah Roll of Cedar Rapids, Jesse Roll of Boone, Shannon Roll of Leadville, Colorado, Ryan Hurt of Ankeny, Nate Hurt of Bel Air, Maryland, Rhiannon Walker of Peoria, Illinois, and Michael Huff of Ankeny; five great-grandchildren: Riley and Emma Lynn Hurt, Wyatt and Ayla Walker, and Alexia Hohenshell; and another great-granddaughter to be born this month.
