Nancy Lynn Acree, 74, of Gibson City peacefully passed away at 6:25 pm Thursday February 9, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held 9:00-11:00am Wednesday February 15, 2023 at Rosenbaum Funeral Home in Gibson City. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 pm at Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shepherd's Closet, Transitions Hospice, Gibson Area Ambulance Services or Gibson Area Hospital.

Nancy was born November 4, 1948 in Paxton, a daughter of Edward Thomas and Shirley Ann (White) Gibbons. She married Michael L.  Acree on April 1, 1993 in Paxton. He passed away April 15, 1995.

She is survived by her sister Sandra (Steve) Calhoun of Bloomington. Two step daughters Alicia (Jerry) Skinner of Gibson City and Amy (Bradley) Crawford of Bloomington. Seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three nieces and a nephew. Her sweet and precious cat "Socks" also survives. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Joseph Gibbons and daughter Paula Benyak.

Nancy owned and operated her own house cleaning business, it was a passion and she was dedicated to her clients. She enjoyed flower arranging, shopping and being with her friends. She found comfort volunteering at Shepherd's Closet in Gibson City where she made new friends every day and enjoyed visiting with them. However, she was happiest with a Diet Coke. Her soft smile and kind heart will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
