Cynthia (Johnson) Halstead Cynthia Halstead (44) beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to so very many, died peacefully at home October 31st 2008 surrounded by family and friends. Born June 5, 1964 in Huntington Park, California, Cindy was raised in Downey where she graduated from Downey High School in 1982. In 1988, she married her beloved Travis and together they raised their two beautiful and remarkable children, Tyler age 19 and Tricia age 17. Her life was devoted to her family, friends and community as she served in so many volunteer capacities: Scott Avenue Elementary PTA, La Mirada Little League and Jr. All American Football, La Mirada High School Boosters, Job's Daughters Beth el # 333, and countless committees and activities which will forever be grateful for her tireless giving. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her mother, Patricia Beckerman of Long Beach; sisters, Lynda (Maybruck), Christine (Mortensen), and Laurie (McDaniel); a multitude of nieces and nephews; and the most amazing angel network of friends, all of whom mourn the loss of her earthly presence even as we celebrate the joy of having known and loved her. There will be a vigil tonight, Nov ember 4 from 4:00-9:00pm including a rosary at 7:00pm at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home. Memorial service Wednesday, November 5 at 10:00am, St. Bruno's Catholic Church followed by interment at Olive Lawn Memorial Park in La Mirada.
