Sylvia Denise McBride Ford, a resident of Birmingham, transitioned from this life Jan. 1, 2015 in Birmingham. She was born Aug. 15, 1982 to Glenn McBride and Daisy Williams and was 32 years of age at the time of her death. A native of Jackson, Sylvia later moved to Birmingham where she graduated from Parker High School.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Jared Ford of Birmingham; her mother and father, Daisey Williams of Birmingham and Glenn (Cathy) McBride of Jackson; one daughter, Jah’ciah Ford of Birmingham; two sons, Da’Carius Johnson of Cleveland, Tenn., and Jeremiah Ford of Birmingham; three sisters, Zekita Sheree McBride of Birmingham, Kanica Williams and Deven McGhee, both of Jackson; two brothers, Deaudrae Williams of Birmingham and Mario McGhee of Jackson; grandmother, Charlene (Bishop Will) Curry of Mobile; five aunts, four uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be today, Thursday, Jan. 8, from 2 p.m. until 5 at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson, Ala. Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 9, with viewing from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2, at Good Hope Baptist Church. The church is located at 9775 Highway 69 in Salipta. The Rev. Derrick Powell is pastor and will be the officiating minister. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Jackson.
