Johanna and John were married August 19, 1877. The 1910 census stated that she had eleven children, ten that were living. Johanna was a very hard working woman being blessed with much energy into her eighties.

Johanna's father was Johannes Hendricksson (later just Hendrickson) and Christina Johannesdotter (later just Johannesson). She was born in Goteryd, Sweden according to other information.
