He was a truck driver. He attended Victory Temple Church of God. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean & Vietnam War; an officer for the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 42 in Alma; and was preceded in death by one son Shane Smith; his parents Bonnie & Elbert Smith; two brothers William and Charles E. Smith.
Family will visit with relatives and friends Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren. Cremation to follow under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren, no formal service will be held at time.
He is survived by one son Jason Smith of Lawrence, KS; two step-sons Terry and Curtis Hearn; two sisters Jullia Goodman and her husband John Paul, Sr. of Van Buren and Mary Gremminger and her husband Bill of Lawrence, KS.; one brother Harrel Smith and his wife Linda of Neck City, MO.; three grandchildren Koral Long, Gabriel Smith, Evan Smith; many nieces and nephews.
