Mrs. Annie “Ruth” Carter Brock, age 92 of Rockmart, Georgia passed away Friday, January 2, 2015.

Mrs. Brock was born on February 3, 1922 in Polk County, daughter of the late John Carter and the late Grace Dawson Carter. She was a homemaker and a loving mother. Mrs. Brock would work during the spring and summers at Brock Feed and Seed alongside her husband, Mr. Abner Douglas Brock who preceded her in death on November 21, 2005. She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Rebecca Lodge.

Mrs. Brock was also preceded in death by five sisters, Mrs. Agnes Sanford, Mrs. Mary Lou Furkin, Mrs. Cordelia Howard, Mrs. Carolyn McBee and Mrs. Carol Barbery; and three brothers, Mr. Bill Carter, Mr. J. L. Carter and Mr. Jimmy Carter.

Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis McGarity and Robin Morris and her husband Donald all of Rockmart; three grandchildren, Felecia Shanks, Heath Morris and Lori Strickland; seven great-grandchildren, Brock and Braden Shanks, Lexie and Andruw Morris and Maci, Lyla Brooke and Kylee Strickland; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral graveside and interment services for Mrs. Brock will be held on Monday, January 5th at 3:00 p.m. in the family lot of Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. Owen (Bud) Davis, Jr. officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Heath Morris, Brad Strickland, Braden Shanks and Keith Shanks.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 5th prior to the service between the hours of 12:30 and 2:30 p.m.
