H. LaRue Scheel, 64, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born Feb. 20, 1950, in Plumcreek Township, a daughter of Ethel (Yount) Burkett, of Ford City, and the late Carl Burkett. LaRue worked 28 years for Ashley Furniture Home Store, where she worked as the office manager. She attended Goldsboro Church of God and enjoyed watching the Steelers and following Cumberland Valley Football. LaRue also enjoyed spending time with her granddog, Charlie; and grandbirds, Ciro and Lola. Besides her mother, LaRue is survived by her husband of 42 years, Clarence F. Scheel Jr.; one daughter, Christina L. Scheel, of Etters; two brothers, James (Diana) Burkett, of Vandergrift, and Dale (Sharon) Burkett, of Indiana; one sister, Vivian Burkett Adams, of Indian Head, Md.; two sisters-in-law, Debra Burkett, and Meloney Scheel (Butch) Keenan. LaRue was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Burkett. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, and 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, in the COCKLIN FUNERAL HOME INC., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, where services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be held in the Dillsburg Cemetery, Golf Course Road.
