Warren was a WWII Army veteran in the European campaign. He achieved rank of SSGT and earned a Bronze Star. He received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for his military service that was presented to him by Congressman Frank LoBiondo. Warren never tired of speaking about his war experiences especially to Kristi Birch's classes at Broad Street School.

He was an advocate in his beloved Bridgeton, a Special Advisor to the Mayor and was able to accomplish many things in the city including helping establish Veterans' Park and sitting on the Neighborhood Dispute Panel. Warren was admired for his common sense, willingness to help those that asked, and sense of humor.
Survivors are his daughter, Dale (William) Zearfaus; granddaughter, Stephanie Bohn; grandson, Barry Uhland; Jr., great·grandson, Jacksen Uhland; sister, Marie Mulford and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Jennie (nee Seibert); his mother, Reba (nee Thompson); his father, Earl; sisters: Dorothy Robinson and Jean Uhland, brothers: Frank, Wayne, Earl, Jr. (Bus), and Lee Robinson.
