Jean “Sharon” Banduch, age 68, of Panna Maria, Texas passed away Jan. 3, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on Aug. 10, 1946 in Beeville, Texas to Richard Sifford and Neva McCombs Sifford. Sharon was hired as the first female Bexar County Deputy Sheriff working in the Civil and Criminal Warrants Division; she also had worked as Cafeteria Manager for SAISD and retired as receptionist for J.P. Hart Lumber Company. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Panna Maria. She and Larry “John” Banduch were married on May 15, 1965. They moved to Panna Maria in 1995 having lived in San Antonio most of her life. Sharon is survived by her husband Larry “John” Banduch of Panna Maria; son Richard Banduch and wife Christie of Schertz, Texas; daughter Kathryn Sue Banduch of Rockport, Texas; brother Charles Sifford of San Antonio; sister Barbara German of Adkins, Texas and two grandchildren Logan Banduch and Ashley Gonzalez. She is preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters Janet and Mary. Visitation will begin at 6 PM with a rosary at 7 PM, Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015 at Rhodes Funeral Home in Karnes City in Karnes City, Texas. The funeral mass will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Panna Maria. Interment will follow in the Panna Maria Cemetery. Officers from the Schertz Police Department will serve as pallbearers. Funeral services are entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home of Karnes City.
