Daughter of Rev. Anthony Lipford and Anna Adkins.

She says on the 1900 Census that the were married in 1873 and for 27 years, and have had 8 children total and 8 were living. However, they were living together as 'Married" in the 1870 Federal Census.

The Birthdate submitted is the one transcribed from her tombstone in "Upon a Lonely Hill: The Cemeteries of Johnson County, Tennessee" by J.L. Carrier (p.28)

However, the year tends to shift in the census records:
1900 Federal Census: "Apr 1845" age 55
1880 Federal Census: "abt 1847" age 33
1870 Federal Census: "abt 1847" age 23
1860 Federal Census: "abt 1847" age 13
