Bettie E. Anderson, 81, of Dunnellon, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at West Marion Community Hospital in Ocala. A native of Lexington, Kentucky, she was born Aug. 27, 1933, to Maurice and Sallie (Woods) Leach, one of five children. Bettie moved to Dunnellon in 2002 and had previously lived in Homosassa since 1974. She, along with her late first husband Albert McCubbins (who passed in 2001), owned and operated McCubbins Amoco in Homosassa. She was Presbyterian.
Mrs. Anderson was also preceded in death by her second husband, Emil Anderson, in 2003, as well as her brothers Kenneth and John Leach. Bettie is survived by her daughters Gina Hill (husband Joseph), Yankeetown, and Sandy Young (husband Greg), Youngsville, Louisiana; brothers Maurice Leach (wife Virginia), Lexington, Virginia, and Lewis Leach (wife Barbara), Lexington, Kentucky; sisters-in-law Maxine and Naomi Leach, Lexington, Kentucky; brothers-in-law Glenn McCubbins of Kentucky and Ray McCubbins (wife Gail) of Florida; grandchildren Cari Hill, St. Petersburg, Daniel Hill (wife Brittany), Inglis, Joseph Hill, Crystal River, and Kevin Kellenberger (wife Renae), Camdenton, Missouri; and great-grandchildren Kaydan, Kai and Cap.
Friends will be received from noon until 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, where a chapel service will take place at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Fountains Memorial Park, Homosassa. www.wilderfuneral.com.
