She was united in marriage on March 17, 1892 to James Bland who passed away May 21, 1940. to this union were born eight children. Two sons, Roy and Elza Bland, preceded their mother in death.
The surviving children are five sons: Dave Bland, Eureka, Kansas J.W. Bland, El Dorado, ? Bland, Piedmont, Delbert Bland, Winfield, KS, and one daughter, Grace Forcum, Piedmont. There are two sisters surviving: Mrs. Gertrude Blair, and Mrs. Maggie Peebles of Eureka. There are 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson surviving and a number of nieces and nephews. Besides the family there is a host of friends and wonderful neighbors to mourn her passing.
She was an active member of the Christian Church in Reece, Kansas for many years and after she was not able to take an active part, she kept in touch the best she could. Even though she was in poor health for many years, she always took great interest in all the family, and never missed a birthday and Christmas remembrances for each and every one. She will be remembered by all for her kindness, understanding and loving care.
Funeral service was held from the Baird Funeral Home Monday, August 12 at 3:30 pm., with the Rev. R. F. Schaechtele officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
