He attended elementary school in Scipio and graduated from Millard High School.

Sheldon served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Gunners Mate Third Class on the USS Preston. His military service was from November 1943 to March 1946. During his honorable service he received the Bronze Star with “V” device.

Sheldon loved working on his family farm as a boy and continued to farm and ranch up until a few years ago. He worked many years for Cache Valley Breeders Association and worked on several ranches as a result of his work with CVBA. He also worked various construction jobs and for the Utah Department of Transportation.

He was an active member and former President of the Scipio Riding Club and spent many hours being a cowboy. In addition he volunteered many hours at the Scipio Arena for its annual rodeo and riding club events.

Sheldon was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He and Beulah served a mission at Cove Fort. He also served on the Scipio Town Council.

He loved spending every possible minute with Beulah, his children and his grandchildren. They truly were the light of his life.
