Irene was a homemaker and was a member of the Immaculata Club, St. Ann’s Sodality and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, playing cards and bingo.
Irene is survived by three daughters: Carolyn M. (Ken) Baker, Betty Scheppers and Kathy (Jerry) Nevins all of Jefferson City; one son: Donald J. (Deborah) Scheppers, Sr. of Jefferson City; two daughters in law: Mildred Scheppers of Centertown and Liz Scheppers of Jefferson City; son in law: Donald Hammann of Jefferson City, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three sons: Bernard “Butch” Scheppers, Charles Scheppers and William Scheppers and three daughters: Dianne Hammonn, Lisa Scheppers and Patricia Rackers.
Family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2015, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service at 4:15 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Rinaldo officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Special Olympics.
