Marie Delores Hunter, 77, passed away peacefully July 1, 2014 with
family by her side. She was born in Fargo, N.D. May 13, 1937 to the late
Henry and Delores Brattensborg.
Marie grew up in Fargo, N.D. and met her husband Charles while attending
North Dakota State University. They have been married for 55 years. She
dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she
traveled worldwide supporting her husband’s 37-year career with Boeing,
building loving and stable homes each place they resided. They retired
to Lake Havasu 14 years ago and she enjoyed having her children,
grandchildren, relatives and friends visit.
One of Marie’s favorite travel experiences was the Safari trip to Africa
and seeing the giraffes. She maintained connections with her Shanley
High School Potluck Club friends and enjoyed their times together. She
loved the challenge of crossword puzzles and watching the multitude of
hummingbirds that frequented the feeders in her yard.
Marie is survived by her husband Charles Hunter; son, Roger Hunter of
Renton, Wash.; daughters, Joan Hunter (Jorgan Light) of Renton, Wash.
and Patty Kindsvater (Kent) of Enumclaw, Wash. as well as four
grandchildren, Brett, Kurt, Lars and Annika. She was preceded in death
by both her parents; brother, Henry Brattensborg and her sister, Lois
Guerin.
Visitation will be at 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 10, with rosary
beginning at 7 p.m. at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. A funeral mass and
reception will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11 at Our Lady of the Lake
Roman Catholic Church. A blessing service will commence at 10 a.m.,
Saturday, July 12 at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to John Paul II Catholic
Schools Network, 5600 25th Street South, Fargo, ND 58104.
