Marilyn Alonzo Sharp, native of Sunshine, La. and resident of Baton Rouge, La. passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2014 at the age of 83.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Marilyn enjoyed traveling and loved music and dancing, but her greatest passion in life was her family.

Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who is survived by her daughter; Karen Dake ; sons; Steve Sharp and wife Suzanne, and David Sharp and wife Kelly; grandchildren: Lindsay Perniciaro and husband Mike, Mallory Vetsch and husband Ben, Drake and Halee Sharp; great grandson: Carter Perniciaro.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Lucille Alonzo; four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Robert "Bob" and Hilda Mae Sharp, Armond and Willie Mae Sharp, William "Bill" and Bertha Jane Sharp.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday January 5, 2015 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a rosary at 7:30pm. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, January 6, 2014 at Sacred Heart of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM conducted by Father Miles D. Walsh. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Sharp, Drake Sharp, Billy Aucoin, Ben Vetsch, Mike Perniciaro, and Erick Weaver.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dawin Sharp, A.J. Ramoin, and Linas Sanchez, Jr.
