Flora was a homemaker and volunteer for many years in both McPherson and Salina. Flora later worked at the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce, where she became a friendly and familiar face to the community for over 10 years. Flora then dedicated the following 10 years to St. Francis of Salina before retiring.
Flora loved gardening, reading, sewing, but her greater joy was a fun game of cards with Dale, family, and friends.
Flora was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Wayne Farnsworth, David Farnsworth; and brother-in-law, Dennis Anderson.
Survivors include her husband, Dale of 62 years; two daughters, Karen Collins (Bryan) of Clyde Hill, Washington, and Dalene Anderson of Lenexa, Kansas; six grandchildren, Matthew Collins, (Kim and son, J.T.) of Seattle, Washington, Chris Tomassian (Morgan) of Annandale, Virginia, Sarah Collins of Seattle, Washington, Caitlin Collins of Clyde Hill, Washington, Ashley Tomassian of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Leah Tomassian of Lawrence, Kansas; two great-grandchildren, Cadence Collins of Seattle, Washington, and Ryan Tomassian of Annandale, Virginia.
Flora was deeply loved by her brothers and sister-in-laws, Carl Farnsworth and wife Sharon of Waco, Texas, Terry Farnsworth and wife Nancy of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Dennis Farnsworth and wife Beth of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-laws: Shirley Farnsworth of Lafayette, Louisiana, Pat Farnsworth of Richmond, Virginia.
She will also be missed by Dale's brothers and sister-in-laws, Loren Anderson (Karen) of McPherson, Kansas, Betty Anderson of McPherson, Kansas, Larry Anderson (Eva) of Ridgley, Mississippi, Royce Anderson (Judy) of McPherson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
The family would like to thank the countless caring health providers at Presbyterian Manor, Salina Regional Health Center and Hospice of Salina, who took such loving care of Flora. We are forever grateful.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina. There will be no viewing as cremation was chosen.
