BLACK (Barnet), Judith Ellen "Judy" Judy was born Mar. 14, 1941 in Dayton to Mary (Short) and David Barnet. She graduated from Bellbrook High School in 1959. The week after graduation she married Merlin her high school sweetheart and moved into their new home on Carpenter Road.

She earned a bachelor's degree in education from Wright State University in 1970 and was Wright State's first basketball cheerleading advisor. Judy taught full-time at Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Schools in the 1970's. She taught as a substitute at Beavercreek Schools and served eight years on the Sugarcreek School Board in the 1980's.

Judy enjoyed long motorcycle rides with her husband, educating others, being in the outdoors mowing the grass and various other yard work, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with her son and grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Judy is survived by her husband of 55 years Merlin F., one son Mark M. (Lori), two grandchildren Caitlin and Adam, three sisters Beverly Peckolt, Pat Crowe (Harry) and Ruth Stephens, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation Sunday Jan. 11th from 4-7 P.M. at CONNER & KOCH Life Celebration Home, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook (937-848-6651). A life celebration will be Monday Jan. 12th at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Darryl Fairchild officiating. Burial in Bellbrook Cemetery.
